House prices in South-West soar
Opportunities for development in the South-West of England are increasing as the population rises, pushing up house prices.
House prices have trebled in the past decade as more Britons move to the South-West, according to a study by the Halifax.
Around 300,000 more people moved to the South-West than left the region, boosting the population by 6%.
Many of those were Londoners, although the capital’s population was lifted by an increase on the number of births and immigration.
One reason cited for moving to the South-West was an improved quality of life, due to less crowding and pollution. Improved transport links and the fact more people can work from home also led to the increase, according to the study.
As the population in the South-West rises, more opportunities for housing development will be created. Regentsmead offers flexible development finance throughout the South of England and Wales.
